Indianapolis at Dallas

This should be a very intriguing match up in various ways. The Colts kept their

perfect record intact by edging out the Bills 17 to16 last week. That win can either work for or against them depending on how you look at it. Meanwhile, Dallas won in convincing fashion at Arizona last week to go 5 and 4 for the season.

The Cowboys lost their best pure QB-disrupter, LB Greg Ellis, to a torn Achilles’. Bill Parcells can plug the hole with rookie LB Bobby Carpenter or maybe veteran LB Al Singleton and get away with it against most teams, but not Indianapolis. Addai leads all rookie RBs with 568 rushing yards. He’s also among the league’s elite with a 4.8 average per rush (5th best). This week, he’ll square off against a Dallas defense that gives up only 3.4 yards per carry, but has been gouged for 9 touchdowns on the ground. Marvin Harrison has 115 career TDs, 9th all-time in NFL history, and will pass John Riggins for 8th with two more scores.

Dallas’s quarterback Tony has been awesome since replacing Drew {who?}, oh Bledsoe. Romo also has a playing incentive in his contract that nets him $750,000 if he plays 65% of the snaps this year. The Cowboys leading rusher faces the league’s worst rushing defense. Jones hasn’t had a 100-yard game since mid-October, and he has only 3 TDs this season, losing a lot of production to Marion Barber. But this could be a week in which both RBs do well. In 2 career games vs. the Colts, Terrell Owens has 13 catches for 182 yards with 2 TDs. He’s scored 6 TDs in his last 5 games. Tony Romo is forcing the ball to Owens even when he’s not open, something Drew Bledsoe wouldn’t do. It’s working.
